About LUCKY BLOCKS Battlegrounds:
Lucky’s Tale was definitely made for kids primarily. 8-12 year old me would have loved this game, but 32 year old me really likes it too. It’s a platformer, we all love them right? It’s also not overly easy, I find myself dying occasionally. Maybe not as much as Crash games but probably as much as a Mario game. The level design is pretty amazing, there are no pre rendered backgrounds to add illusion of depth. Everything you see is your level environment. The graphics are highly polished in VR and even a potato can run it. My absolute favorite parts are when you dive into a hole and do a side platforming bit, they are just that extra touch that makes me keep playing. The story is basically non existent, but it’s a platformer. There is lots of replayability here too, though I don’t think it is that long. I would say wait for a sale but $20 is reasonable, and this genre just works so well in VR. I find myself always searching for the next 3rd person platformer that is actually worth playing. I can’t think of that many cons to this game but one major one for me is there really isn’t any puzzle solving that is of any depth. I would have liked to have seen mini puzzles that would shake up the monotonous enemy bashing and coin collecting. The voice of lucky is also kind of annoying and childish, but not too bad.
