About Wayfort Beta:
I both love and hate this game on one hand it’s the best samurai sandbox game I’ve played yet with decent(ish) character customisation, a fair amount of sword fighting styles which you can even use to make your own, multiple endings, amusing events/quests, and sword smithing (more of a mix & match style of smithing) and on the other hand it’s npcs cheat so much (mostly on harder difficulties) they’ll just outright ignore the rules a lot of the time and pull bullsht one hit kill moves out of their arses much faster than you can, they act like they’re already blocking while getting back up while also blocking attacks from behind and they recover from animations much quicker than you, one time during spring harvest i was wailing on one of them and it suddenly decided it would ignore my attacks via imitating a ragdoll from gmod and just skitzing the fck out all around me until it pulled an instant kill out of it’s arse. It’s a good game that could’ve been great if it had more time spent on it. I’ve been a huge fan of the series, and I remember driving between multiple Electronics Boutique, Babbage’s, and Gamestop locations trying to get my hands on a physical copy of the first one. Sadly, I was unable to play this one as it kept randomly crashing if I opened a menu, changed map locations, or changed the screen resolution. The crashing seems to be a common issue for some while a non issue for others. While the port is iffy at points, it’s good to be able to play this game on PC. While the online features were removed, probably due to some issues relating to the blade creation aspect, the game still holds up despite the issues as a result of the port. An amazing experience of the samurai life in 1853 all around.
